Texas communities present development and investment opportunities directly to Korean industry leaders in Seoul
KoreaTexas Forum (KTF) joined Texas economic development leaders in Seoul for the 5th Convergence K-City Platform Briefing, hosted by the International Contractors Association of Korea (ICAK) on October 15, 2026.
The briefing created a direct platform for Texas communities to present specific development and investment opportunities to Korean construction, engineering and cross-sector companies exploring international projects and U.S. market opportunities. (icak.or.kr)
The Texas delegation highlighted opportunities across Henderson, Leander, Killeen and Bastrop, giving Korean participants a closer look at projects and development concepts in different Texas markets.
Projects presented during the program included Henderson mixed-use and industrial development, the Leander K’Town mixed-use development concept, Killeen K-City Central, and development opportunities in Bastrop. Presentations provided information on development sites, land-use plans, target industries and potential incentive structures to help Korean companies evaluate opportunities for participation. Building a Direct Connection Between Korea and Texas
KTF’s participation reflects a broader effort to create more direct connections between Korean companies and Texas communities prepared to support investment and expansion.
The October briefing builds on discussions between KTF and ICAK earlier this year. On June 15, the organizations met in Seoul to discuss K-City development opportunities in Texas and ways to connect Korean construction companies, developers and other businesses with projects and communities across the state. ICAK and KTF also discussed sharing information on Texas development projects and creating opportunities for Texas community representatives to engage directly with Korean companies. (icak.or.kr)
The October K-City briefing moved that conversation forward by putting specific Texas projects and community representatives directly in front of Korean industry participants.
From Market Awareness to Real Opportunities
For Korean companies evaluating the United States, understanding the differences between individual Texas markets is an important part of making an informed investment decision.
Programs such as the K-City Platform Briefing allow companies to move beyond general information about Texas and begin evaluating actual locations, development concepts, local partners and potential areas for collaboration.
For Texas communities, direct engagement in Korea provides an opportunity to build relationships with companies before investment decisions are made and to communicate what their communities can offer in areas including development, infrastructure, workforce, incentives and long-term business support.
That connection is central to KoreaTexas Forum’s work.
KTF helps Korean companies explore opportunities in Texas through insight, guidance and direct connections to Texas communities and trusted partners. At the same time, KTF helps Texas communities build meaningful relationships with Korean companies evaluating U.S. investment and expansion.
The K-City Platform Briefing represents another step toward turning those relationships into tangible business, investment and development opportunities between Korea and Texas.
